Avocet Properties

Rented Just Beachy for my son’s wedding to accommodate family. The house has major structural issues and so many minor issues, too many to list. I saw a previous review dated 3 weeks ago, also a 1 star, where Avocet thanked renter for bringing issues to their attention and stated property had been repaired. If is has I’d hate to have seen it before our stay. The downstairs game room had water leaking & dripping onto futon beds & carpet so badly you slooshed when walking down there. It was unusable. There are electric lines, cable lines & plumbing strung all over each other with the water dripping on them. We had a contractor with us - he couldn’t believe any of this met code standards and felt it a fire danger. We tried to locate other accommodations but being Easter weekend there was nothing available, We looked for and located 3 fire extinguishers - only 1 was charged and there are no fire alarms in the house. One of my guests had to use pliers to turn on shower in bathroom and when she went to close the shower door it fell into the shower on her. I could go on for pages - We contacted Avocet by phone and reported some of the issues and stopped by while in town. A workman was sent out, took pictures and repaired a wall outlet. He suggested we keep the one working fire extinguisher available. This made us fell extremely safe - NOT. After returning home and reading previous reviews (wish I’d read them prior to renting) I see where this property has been rated poorly and nothing has been done to repair issues. Very poorly managed rental and extremely pricey - they offered nothing for our horrible experience. VERY DISAPPOINTED would not recommend using Avocet.
